About ACM-ICPC

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a multi-tier, team-based, programming competition operating under the auspices of ACM and headquartered at Baylor University. The contest involves a global network of universities hosting regional competitions that advance teams to the ACM-ICPC World Finals. Participation has grown to several tens of thousands of the finest students and faculty in computing disciplines at almost 3000 universities from over 111 countries on six continents. The contest fosters creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure. Quite simply, it is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world. ICPC Foundation is the Global Sponsor of this event. The other sponsors includes JetBrains(ICPC global programming tools sponser) and Codechef.

About Gwalior-Pune Regionals


ABV-IIITM Gwalior and IIIT Pune are jointly hosting this year's ACM ICPC Asia Gwalior-Pune Regionals under the auspices of ACM. ACM ICPC Asia Gwalior-Pune Regionals 2018 is an Asian-level Contest. Teams across Asia can participate in this contest. Teams qualifying in the online contest advance to participate in the on-site contest and the winners of the on-site contest are eligible to participate in the world finals.



Registration Details


STEPS TO REGISTER:


  • Staff members have to register themselves as “COACH” with their official college mail id at http://icpc.baylor.edu.
    Note: If official mail id is not available, send an e-mail with proof of employment identity to icpc@iiitm.ac.in

  • Students have to register themselves as “CONTESTANTS” at http://icpc.baylor.edu

  • Staff members can create a team by clubbing three students for the particular contest.

  • The registration fee for the online contest is INR 900. Registration fee of INR 900 per team should be received as online remittance to ABV-IIITM on or before the last date of registration

  • After registering, fill the details of your payment in this form to complete your registration.

    Dear ICPC Contestants, Kindly check your status in ACM-ICPC site, if your status is accepted than ignore this.For the rest, we are unable to update your status, either one of the following reasons:



    1. You have not registered your team for Asia Gwalior-Pune First Round Online Programming Contest.

    2. Some of you have registered for the onsite contest (but it is not allowed at this stage) must cancel your team registration from the onsite contest and registered for only Asia Gwalior-Pune First Round Online Programming Contest.

    3. The team name is wrong in the google form.

    4. Account holder’s name is wrong in the google form.

    If your status is not updated, please send the payment details (screen-shot) along with team name as earliest at icpc@iiitm.ac.in Otherwise, your team will be disqualified from the online contest.

  • Q. Can I register without a Coach?
    A. No, it is not possible to register a team without a coach, for more information click here.

  • Q. Is it possible to have a person from the industry appear as a coach?
    A. No. As per the ICPC rules, it is compulsory to have a faculty member from the institution as a coach for the team.

  • Q. Can I use my personal laptop to attend the online or onsite contest?
    A. No. It is not permitted for the onsite round, but you can use your personal computer to participate in the online round.

  • Q. Can a team participate in the Online or Onsite contest with less than 3 members?
    A. No, it is not permitted. A team should consist of 3 members and one reserve member. Also, a team can only have one coach per team.

  • Q. Is it necessary to have the all team members from same institution?
    A. Yes, A team should always be affiliated with one institution. So, there cannot be members from different institutions in one team.

  • Q. Is there any registration fee?
    A. The registration fee is INR 900 per team for the online contest and for the teams that qualify to the onsite round, the registration fees is INR 3000. The registration fee for foreign teams is USD 250.

  • Q. Maximum teams allowed?
    A. As of now, the maximum teams for the online round has been restricted to 1000. From those teams, only 125 teams will proceed to the onsite round, based on ranking and college quota after the online round.

  • Q. Method of payment?
    A. Teams can pay through online remittance.
